San Diego Cake Show

Our annual Cake Show & Competition will be held on March 21 & 22, 2020, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The show will benefit Charities in San Diego. This annual event is the largest non-profit show of its kind in California. If you missed it last year, you missed out! The cake show this year will be even bigger and better than ever!

You'll find something for everyone at our show. There are gift baskets you can win with raffle tickets, demos all weekend long on the main stage, classes starting Friday, March 20th, and hundreds of beautiful cakes and other sugar art items entered into the Competition to view and enjoy! We will also have a tremendous vendor area, where you can shop to your hearts content. Our wonderful Vendors will have a variety of products available for sale and sampling.

There are many categories for professional, non-professional, adults and children included in the Competition. Anyone who enjoys making decorative cakes, cookies, or other sugar art items is encouraged to check us out and enter! This show is judged by educators of the confectionery arts. Prizes will be awarded to the winning entries.

The "Spectacular Cake Competition" is for the highly competitive advanced sugar artists who are looking to be creatively challenged at the most extreme level of perfection. Judging will be by an extremely experienced and highly critical judging team. Are you up for it? Show them your best work and reap the rewards and acclaim!

The entries are judged on Saturday and are on display throughout the weekend. During the Show, there are live demonstrations of many sugar arts, i.e., various cake decorating styles, candy making, cookie decorating, flowers made from gum paste, sugar eggs, gingerbread art, marzipan, or rolled fondant. The main stage demonstrations schedule will be posted on the San Diego Cake Show site once available.

The Club will also have a booth where various events will be happening; booth demos, celebrity autographs & pictures, just to name a couple

A Daily Raffle will be held for your chance to win a basket. Items that are donated by many different businesses will be raffled off. The Raffle drawings will be held daily on Saturday and a different set of baskets on Sunday. Winning ticket holders need to pick up their baskets by the end of the show.

The Cake Competition Award Ceremony will be held at 4:00P.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2020. This is where the Best of Show and all other prizes are announced.

Trophies & Prizes will be presented to the winners in each category. All entrants may pick up their judges sheets to see how they were evaluated. Notes from the judges will be included on the judging sheets letting you know the areas you excelled and the areas where you may need to practice your craft for next year.
